Industry and Society

I think that robotics are increasing the industry because most of the robots that help the factories make the products are efficient and help a lot better than men alone doing the work. It also makes things go smoother and a lot faster. For example there is a robot right now in the industry known as the pancake stacking robot, which is legitimately used in factories to stack pancakes by a sensor for movement and sight, whenever a pancake passes by it tries to pick them up with a suction cup very fast and stacks 4 pancakes in less than 2 seconds where all the pancakes are moving on this circular motion dispenser and the robot rarely misses one. Nowadays the robots have more strength than men, the robots move faster and more efficient and in less time, plus the robots are much more organized. It has positive affects on the industry because they get to get all their products out sooner than later. However, it has negative affects on the society because men and women are not able to get the jobs that the robots have already taken up. Then again, the society also has a positive affects to this change because the customers get products a lot faster, and the employees don’t have to break a sweat as much. So technically its a win win for “SkyNet” and humans, instead of it being a war. LoL

This cool climbing monkey robot known as the rise v3: climbing robot, literally climbs poles and run quickly. This quadrupedal has tiny surgical needles to dig into vertical surfaces; this method is so successful it is in capable to climb 21 cm/sec. MIND BOGGLING!!!!! Apparently the rise v3 is intended for search, rescue missions, surveillance, and reconnaissance. The robot was designed by boston dynamics.

Uconn has a research Team where Chengyu Cao is the main researcher and his team is the CCao research team. Anyways, the team madeĀ a prototype underwater submersible called Proteus, named after one of Poseidon’s sons for adaptility. The robot itself has a system in aquatic environments. They received a $1.2 million grant for capturing the National Science Foundation’s National Robotics Intiative (NRI) and hope to improve aquatic rescue and discovery.

Robots

This cool, futuristic, humanoid robot is amazing. it was made by a French Company NAO or Aldebaran Robotics, and its main help in society is research and social interaction. It was released in 2008 but the idea and how interesting it is, makes it so unique and awesome that it is still in production and still is really popular.

heres is a robot made in Canada called Robo-Friends and the company at this time is unknown but their website is MyRobots.com and the main coordinator of the project is Carlos Asmat. The main idea of the robot is to help or guide people in Facebook in a better way and t helps you mainly in that. Nowadays people think that the internet is really cool but others want the internet to disappear because of the fact it is keeping us, humans, away from life. However, the way this robot teaches you is so cool that it takes your mind off of that.

Project: Neolithic Architecture

I plan to turn the WAIS arches and possibly some part of the building itself into neolithic-like architecture. The arches and the building will become stone and the stone texture will be from actual pictures of stones from the internet. Everything will be turned into stone!!
